The Asthma Program at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Children’s Hospital

The goal of the Asthma Program is to improve the health of children with asthma by providing group and/or individual bedside instruction to children and their families, as well as outreach, service and support in the community.  All services are provided in Spanish and English.

Program components include:

  1. Asthma classes for children and their families
  2. Educational materials
  3. “Happy Lungs: Family Asthma Program” is an individualized, 12-month program for children 5-11 years of age with moderate-severe asthma and their families.  This program focuses on the environment, school, and skills for managing asthma. 
  4. Talks and workshops for school nurses, daycare providers, and community groups.
  5. Video: “Kids and Asthma: with every breath that they take,” a 10-minute overview of asthma available in English and Spanish
